Thurs. Day #15 Formed for God's Family

See how much the heavenly father loves us, for he allows us to be called his children, and we really are. 1 John 3:1

God's second purpose was for us to be part of his family.

Because God is love, he treasures relationships.

Every human was created by God, but not everyone is a child of God.

You are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Baptism: Identifying with God's Family

Baptism announces that "I am not ashamed to be part of God's family."

Baptism announces the death of your old life, and announces your new life in Christ.

Whenever you feel unimportant, unloved, or insecure, remember to whom you belong.

I am already part of God's family, that's amazing! This book is giving me a new perspective about my relationship with God. My relationship with God was pre-determined. It's an everyday relationship, not a Sunday obligation. He wants to be involved in every part of my day. Very different way to think about God. I have not been Baptized since turning my life over to Christ, but I have discussed a plan with Tim Siemens. I'll keep you posted.

  1. What's amazing to me is that we are referred to as Christ's brothers and sisters - "anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister" Matthew 12:50. We, along with Christ, are in God's family. We will inherit the same heaven - "Since you are God's child, everything he has belongs to you" Gal. 4:7. "And since we are his children, we will share his treasures - for all God gives to his Son Jesus is now ours too." Romans 8:17 I'm so thankful Jesus died for me and I'm a part of God's family. I'm rich!
